About Me

Kenneth Tran - Machine Learning Scientist - Microsoft Research

I'm currently a Research Engineer in the Deep Learning Technology Center, Microsoft Research. Previously, I was a Machine Learning Scientist in the Cloud Machine Learning group also at Microsoft, building a machine learning platform (so-called TLC), which now powers the Azure ML. Between the two positions, I had a brief stint at Uber in 2015, incubating its internal machine learning infrastructure and also working on fraud detection as its first use case. In 2012, I received a PhD in Computational and Applied Math from UT Austin.

My research interest includes Machine Learning, Optimization, and Distributed Computing.

Here's a more-academic profile of me.
